Our Telekom leads the market with the most comprehensive coverage and largest subscriber base, while bmobile provides competitive alternatives. 4G LTE is now the primary technology for data in urban areas, supporting video streaming, social networking, messaging apps and e-commerce, while 3G and 2G remain important for voice and coverage in smaller towns and rural districts. Network quality and speeds are generally adequate in cities, with operators investing in infrastructure modernization and capacity expansion to handle growing data traffic. The market is characterized by high mobile penetration (over 90% due to multi-SIM usage), increasing smartphone adoption and strong demand for mobile data services, driven by a young population and expanding digital economy. Mobile networks support a wide range of applications, from mobile payments and social media to e-commerce and business services, contributing to Solomon Islands's digital transformation efforts. While 5G trials have been discussed, commercial deployment has been limited, with operators focusing on expanding and optimizing 4G networks to serve the country's population across its many islands.
