Network quality and speeds are generally good in cities, with operators investing in infrastructure modernization and capacity expansion to handle growing data traffic. The market is characterized by high mobile penetration (over 100% due to multi-SIM usage), increasing smartphone adoption and strong demand for mobile data services, driven by a young population and expanding digital economy. Mobile networks support a wide range of applications, from mobile payments and social media to e-commerce and business services, contributing to Lesotho's digital transformation efforts. While 5G trials have been discussed, commercial deployment has been limited, with operators focusing on expanding and optimizing 4G networks to serve the country's population.
